2021 SLOcally Made Vendor Application

Hey there! SLOcally Made is back for year 5 and if you ended up here, that must mean you’re thinking about joining. Welcome! Think of this as a hybrid between a retail store and pop-up market. For the 5th year now, we’ve provided a bridge between local makers and local community through the creation of temporary store in Downtown San Luis Obispo for the 2 weeks before Christmas. The community has shown up every year - big time.

The shop will in the same space as last year - 881 Higuera st. We did extremely well last year and the holiday season is forecasted to be a big one again. We’d love to count you in.

There are 3 ways to be a vendor this year (see detailed info at the bottom of this page):

Lead Vendor (limited spots) is good for:
- You want your costs to be low and participation to be high.
- As a lead, you will be working many shifts and act as a “manager” while working.
- Perks include: picking your spot in the store, having say in how it’s run and paying low commission/booth rent. We will also feed you some meals. To some this is a big perk. You also get prime time marketing placements.
- The exchange is: you work 11-13 shifts, help with store set-up and take-down and are up for managing people.
- You should have enough product to fill a busy booth for 14 days.

Standard Vendor is good for:
- You don’t want to/ can’t work as many shifts in the store but still want to get in on the lower commission.
- You want to be included in the styled photoshoot, promo video, PR opportunities, social media and other marketing perks but can’t commit to being a lead (we understand!)
- You will work 5-6 shifts, pay a booth fee (About $38/day) and commission (20%) and not have commitment beyond that.
- You should have enough product to fill a busy booth for 14 days.

Retail Vendor is good for:
- Maybe you are testing the waters on a new business or just want a simple commitment
- You don’t want to/can’t work in the store
- You have less inventory or want a smaller footprint
- but you still want to get in on the magic of SLOcally Made! Yay!

Deets on application:

  • Applications are due by Oct 1.

  • We will get back to you by Oct. 15 to let you know if you’re accepted and how to pay booth fees.

  • Booth fees will be due by Oct 22.
