Simple Wealth
Lizzy Lewis | Electroplater
When we asked Lizzy for an elevator pitch that sums up her business, she replied "I make jewelry from recycled copper pipe and real plants and bugs!" - How cool is that?? We think so! Lizzy's love for the creative arts began early on in life when her husband taught her macrame which turned into crochet which turned into... you know how the story goes for us creative types. All endeavors lead into another while we connect our hands to our hearts in unique and beautiful ways. Lizzy's creative pursuits have led her to a flexible career as a copper metalsmith where she can make a living while raising her daughter, Penelope. Electroplating, in short, is a process that uses electrical current to apply a layer of copper onto an object—in this case, foraged plants and bugs. Lizzy's work is a direct reflection of the inspiration she draws from nature, as seen in the natural, wearable art she creates. It is also a reflection of her—grounded, organic, and steeped in mystical charm. Lizzy has participated with us for many years but this is the first year she is joining as part of our core crew and we are so excited to have her!
