Ursula and Beau Sorenson
Textile/Fiber/Leatherworkers
@hidestitchandhook
Motto: Well, now what?
Both from a long lineage of creative makers, Ursula and Beau are the dynamic duo behind Hide Stitch & Hook. While Ursula was sewing with her mother as a child, Beau was learning to carve birdhouses with his grandpa. Together, they now honor their shared history, exploring new skills, mediums and ideas as wholehearted creators. Their name is a testament to their heritage: Hide (for their leather goods), Stitch (for their sewn items) and Hook (for their crocheted items). With the help of their dog Barley, Beau and Ursula will bring their line of amazing offerings to the store this year and we are stoked to have them here!

SUSAN BRADFORD | POTTER
@clay_and_mortar
Many makers have a unique story that leads them to their craft and Susan is no different. She has learned many skills through her 30-year career designing children’s clothing, hand-painting furniture and doing interior design which reflects in her pottery which is just as functional as it is beautiful. She learned pottery about 5 years ago after taking a course and it wasn’t long before she was hooked and inspired by the colors, textures and shapes that she could make with clay. Susan’s love of pottery is expressed clearly in her pieces which are well-made, naturally balanced and reflect the earth tones we know and love. Beyond the pure beauty of her pieces we are often blown away by the many unique and creative ways she makes with clay producing a wide range of goods for the home. This is Susan’s second year participating in SLOcally Made and her first as a core maker and we are so excited to see what she brings to the market this year!

JENNELLE ROBLES | IMPRESSIONIST PAINTER
@Jennelle_Lynn_Art
Jennelle comes from a long line of creators so it is no surprise that she ended up finding the calm and peaceful path of painting as her career. Since she was young, she could be found doing a wide range of crafts including sewing, charcoal, pastels and colored pencils. As her love of art has followed her through life, she has refined her focus as an impressionist painter that works with mixed media to create clean, natural landscapes that make those who love simplicity squeal. She offers a variety of original framed paintings on canvas and paper, prints and special for the holidays - beautiful hand painted ceramic ornaments. This is Jennelle’s first year with SLOcally Made and we are so excited to offer her quality fine art for your home.

Woollybear Travels
Melisa Beveridge
Painter
@woollybeartravels
Motto: All animals deserve love
SLOcally Made’s motto is Hands, Hustle, Heart. WBT embodies those three words in a way that just makes our heart beam. Melisa is a Registered Vet Tech and spends her days traveling to animal sanctuaries all over the world, offering her services to animals in need. So, what can a vet tech bring to our collective of artists and makers? As the case with many of our creators, Melisa has more than one talent. Under the guise of Woollybear Travels, she’s also an incredible scientific illustrator. She creates detailed drawings and paintings that bring to life the quirky and loveable nature of the sweet rescue animals she meets in her travels.
Go ahead and binge the adorable shares on her feed (you’re welcome) of Gizmo the bush baby getting an armpit scratch, Kuda the baboon getting dressed, or Zimi the zebra giving Melisa a kiss — and you will do just what we did… fall. in. love.
Melisa makes an entire line of lifestyle goods adorned with these loveable animals, and then donates 10% of the proceeds back to a sanctuary that creates a regenerative system for rescued animals. Melissa is joining SLOcally Made for the 2nd year, and we can’t get enough of the light, love, and beauty that her creations bring to our store.
